Carla Hutchison-Director/

Dance

Carla started her dance training at 3 where she studied at the Kindorf Dance Studio in Cypress now known as “Impact Dance Center”.  After being picked up by a talent agency at a dance competition at age 5 she began to work professionally.  Her professional dance credits include the First Star Search Junior, The People’s choice awards, Kids Incorporated, “TAP” with Gregory Hines and Savion Glover, a Tribute to Michael Jackson, along with numerous National commercials.  She continued her dance training and education at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, auditioned and was accepted at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York City and has studied with renowned master teacher Paula Morgan. Her teaching career started at age 15 where her students ranged from adults to 3 year olds. Carla is also the mother of 2 wonderful kids, a daughter who dances as well, and a son who loves taking his No Limits classes.

Ashley Rowlett
Musical Theater

Meet Ashley! She’s been performing professionally for over 16 years and working with kids is her passion. (She also has a kiddo of her own!) She’s been seen on NBC, CBS, Cartoon Network, ABC, Disney Channel and much more. While film and TV is a part of her history she prefers a live audience and being able to bring that experience to kids of all ages and walks of life. She started her career performing at Disneyland and took off from there. Working with special needs kids is where Ashley sees her future. She started off assisting groups in High School and went on to teach therapy horseback riding for children with Autism and working with special needs school theater programs and Make A Wish. Musical theater is her passion and to be able to bring that joy and skill to kids is more than she ever could ask for.

Stacy Shube
Tumbling

 

Stacy has been an educator and cheer/song advisor for 30 years. She is currently the Language Arts Department Chair and Cheer/Song Advisor at Yorba Linda High School. Prior to that she taught and coached at Esperanza High School and SCATS Gymnastics Academy in Huntington Beach. She has spent her career working with young people. She is looking forward to the next session of No Limits classes as this gives her the opportunity to share her passion for gymnastics and movement with a very special group of kids.

Carolyn Schmahl Vocal

Carolynn Schmahl earned her BA in Music from Chapman University's Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music, where she was classically trained as a mezzo-soprano. Carolynn has acted as music director for several shows with HPA, including Honk, Annie, James and the Giant Peach, Shrek, A Christmas Story, and Seussical. Especially dear to Carolynn are her private-lesson students, many of whom have been cast as leading roles in local productions and have placed in the Musical Theater Competitions of America in the soloist category. She has also designed and directed several camps at HPA to teach musicianship skills such as sight reading, knowledge of music theory, composition, music history, and audition preparation. She loves to watch her students grow in their abilities and confidence, and believes that everyday she gets to make music is a good day.

Shannon McCabe Ph.D.

Yoga

Shannon is a Ph.D. in Mythological Studies, a California dual Credentialed Teacher in English Language Arts and Special Education, and is specialized in best practices and pedagogy. She is a E-200 Registered Yoga Alliance teacher with 50 hours of additional training in yoga for kids of all abilities and restorative yoga. She shares her love of yoga with her daughter, who was born with Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect.

Shannon has worked in education for more than 25 years as a classroom teacher and lecturer. She has specialized in working with marginalized populations to help them find their voice to initiate greater wellbeing. Shannon is dedicated to helping children and youth develop strategies of mindfulness and movement to cope with an increasingly complex world to live healthier lives.

Abby Grosveld

Art

Abby grew up in Orange County, California. She started her formal art education at California State University Long Beach where she received her BFA in Illustration. From there she worked as a toy production artist for a few years before transitioning into becoming a children's art instructor. Abby decided to further her education by getting a Masters in Teaching at University of California, Irvine. She is now a teacher at Oxford Academy in Cypress where she teaches drawing and painting. Abby is passionate about appreciating all forms of art and building relationships with her students. She hopes to cultivate a positive art experience for all students, encouraging them to explore, take risks, and believe in themselves.
